CT Scan

CT Scan

A CT scan is a noninvasive, painless medical test most often used to diagnose problems such as cancers, cardiovascular disease, infectious disease, trauma and musculoskeletal disorders.

Bone Density

Bone Density

The clinic offers bone density scans to aid in the diagnosis of osteoporosis. The Lunar DPX Dexa scanner is completely non-invasive and measures bone density of both the lumbar spine and femur. This is a simple and painless way to diagnose and monitor a potentially crippling disease.

Radiology

X-Ray

The two X-Ray locations are able to offer patients testing in a timely manner. The X-Ray facility at Midwest Express Care allows for prompt diagnosis of walk-in patients without having to go to another facility. Both X-Ray locations take appointments for patients with orders from Midwest doctors as well as outside doctors.

Midwest also offers ultrasound technology and can perform all aspects of diagnostic ultrasound testing. Including pelvic and abdominal studies, echocardiography, and carotid studies. The registered radiologic technologists are trained in diagnostic testing.

Nuclear Medicine

Nuclear Medicine

The Nuclear Medicine department has the expertise and equipment to do several different exams. We are currently performing cardiac stress testing to rule out coronary artery disease; bone scans to rule out metastatic cancer, fractures or bone infection; HIDA scans to evaluate the function of the gallbladder and a liver test to rule out hemangiomas as well as evaluate the function of the liver/spleen.

ECP Therapy

ECP

ECP, or External Counter Pulsation Therapy is another treatment offered at Midwest. ECP is used for patients with chronic Angina, or chest pain due to lack of oxygenated blood to the heart. ECP is a 35 week treatment, 5 days a week, for one hour per day. Patients who receive this treatment generally have to take fewer medications, have fewer Angina attacks, and can do more physical activity such as walking.

Additional Services

The two laboratory draw stations are able to provide the patients with quick, flexible appointment times throughout the day. Most laboratory testing is analyzed in-house, at our moderately sophisticated, CLIA approved facility, resulting in prompt diagnosis and treatment for our patients.
